Knowing Jesus, The Creator

The first book of the Bible answers many of the important questions of life. Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? How did all things come about?

God alone throughout His Word reveals Himself to man and gives man the answers he is seeking. The first verse of scripture is a test of faith. Do we really believe God (Genesis 1:1) "In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heaven and the earth." This verse clearly denies evolution! There are no long ages, no millions or billions  of years, no evolvution (changing) of one kind into another. God supernaturally created all things by the Word of His power! (Hebrews 1:3 and 11:3). "For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist." (Colossians 1:16-17) Who is the "he" Paul is speaking about? Verses 13-15 of this same book tell us it is Jesus! He made us in creation and remade us in salvation (2 Cor. 5-17). Praise His Holy name!!!

Genesis 1: 1-31 tells us how God created. God said or God called by His Word. In verse 1 God created the unique materials (the matter) He would use to form everything. The building blocks for everything, the very atoms that comprise all that is visible and invisible! 2 Peter 3:10 states "the elements shall melt with fervent heat." These elements are made of atoms, so Jesus will "uncreate" the current world and recreate a new heaven and earth where righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:13)! So we see God's design of

making and forming an empty (void) and shapeless (formless) universe.

God also created the heavens (or space). Space is not empty nothingness. Space is a fabric that can be bent or stretched. Isaiah 44:24 and Psalm 104:2. It is the place where God located the entire creation. Everything that exists, exists in space and time. God reveals His entire plan for His creation in the pages of His letter to mankind. We call it the Bible.
